Value added voice and data distributor IPL Communications has added LG Electronics' commercial panels to its lineup.
The new LG range included customised panels, information monitors for call centres and specialist digital signage products, which vary from $600 to $65,000 with three years warranty.
Until now, the distributor supplied Panasonic panels exclusively.
IPL’s general manager Paul Scanlan told CRN that it grew its digital signage range "by accident".
“There are more and more monitors – plasmas and LCD displays - being used in call centres and various other ways to communicate with staff.
“And a lot of the reporting is sophisticated taking a bigger screen to use them," he said.
Growth in video conferencing was also a contributing factor.
IPL will distribute LG’s new ‘SuperSign,’ which provides access to content management software and starter templates, as well as news and weather feeds from CNN.
“The place that we won't be taking these is retail; retail is not our marketplace. We’re expanding the horizons for our voice and video channel partners.
"It opens a broad range of opportunities for our resellers, equipping them to offer digital signage as part of an end-to-end solution for their customers in key vertical sectors," he said.
IPL said it had access to desk monitors as part of its agreement with LG for package deals.
