Julian Assange arrested by the Metropolitan Police on accusations of sexual assault.

The founder of controversial website WikiLeaks, Julian Assange, has been arrested by the Metropolitan Police in London today, accused of sexual assault.

The 39-year-old, originally from Australia, had been staying in the UK in an attempt to keep out of the public eye whilst his website published leaked cables from US embassies, revealing confidential, and often embarrassing, diplomatic communications.

A European arrest warrant was granted to bring in Assange, who was accused of one count of rape, one count of unlawful coercion and two counts of sexual molestation alleged to have occurred back in August in Sweden.

WikiLeaks spokesman Kristinn Hrafnsson told Reuters that Wikileaks was still "operational".

"We are continuing on the same track as laid out before.”

"Any development with regards to Julian Assange will not change the plans we have with regards to the releases today and in the coming days."

The moral of this story is don't mess with the yanks, God's on their side and by god they'll stoop to any depth to keep him there.
It's all way to convenient, too pat by half; Assange dares to cross them and suddenly he's a raging sex fiend, tried, convicted and crucified before he’s even been apprehended.

Those of us given to a modicum of cynicism have no difficulty seeing a conspiracy here; they’ve been unable to hit him with anything real pertaining to their real beef with him so back into the dirty tricks basket yet again. Couldn’t happen in the land that gave us the enduring Korean Peninsula peace, Vietnam, Iraq, Afghanistan you say, really?

I’m all for giving him a medal; ignoring the really important stuff like what the yanks really think about almost everyone else and how they are totally oblivious to the impact of their arrant stupidity and arrogance on real folk it’s interesting to observe things local. Little Kebbin (shao ren) Krudd advocating using force against China, Madam Clinton being stupid enough to listen to him, Gulia Dillard loudly beating her breast, Piss Bowen’s twat about cancelling Assanges Australian passport before there’s even a suggestion that he’s broken any Australian laws, and on it goes. The sad bit is that it will probably add another arrow to the Conboy Censorship quiver. And where’s Bob Clown when you need him, good old sensitive, people focused Bob, a shame really?

Ho hum
