Avnet grows networking portfolio.

Networking vendor Brocade and Avnet have extended their global distribution agreement to include Australia.

Avnet has joined Distribution Central in supplying Brocade's IP networking range in Australia. Distributor Lynx Technologies will continue to distrubute Brocade's storage and networking products.

“Over the past decade, Avnet and Brocade have enjoyed a successful global partnership, so to extend this relationship geographically makes sense,” said Gavin Lawless, vice president and general manager of Avnet Partner Solutions Australia.

For Avnet, Brocade became its fifth networking partner joining Barracuda NetworksJuniper NetworksEnterasys Networks and HP Networking.

Graham Shultz, regional director of Australia & New Zealand at Brocade said the partnership would help the vendor focus on delivery.

“This is an exciting announcement for Brocade as we continue to expand our IP networking portfolio and revolutionise the way data centre networks are built."
