Vic Rail to buy software for unspecified amount.

CA Technologies has picked up a contract with Victorian Rail Track to supply software, support, education and services in support of the organisation's increased project workload.

The company declined to comment on the value of the deal, which will see CA provide its CA Clarity PPM project and portfolio management solution to assist VicTrack across its telecommunications, capital projects and property business.

VicTrack Capital Projects general manager Ian Davidson said CA Technologies came out on top of a fierce tender process thanks in part due to its history in government projects. The department declined to name others involved in the tender.

“There were a number of factors that we considered when making our final decision, including the depth of the CA Clarity PPM technology – ranging from providing enhanced analysis and management reporting capabilities to the ability for VicTrack to better align projects with business strategy," Davidson said.
