Oil giant Shell has outsourced application maintenance for its SAP human resources and payroll systems to Accenture.
The deal, signed in July last year, covers SAP systems that are used by 90,000 people in 60 countries and encompasses functional areas including self-service, employee administration and environmental health.
The outsourced services are being delivered through centres in India and the Philippines.
Accenture has worked with various divisions of Shell on its SAP R/3 system in the past, including the exploration and production divisions, covering 22,000 users.
