New third distie.

Global cloud vendor Riverbed has replaced Westcon as its third distribution partner in Australia, extending a relationship with Avnet from North America and the EMEA down under.

Avnet joins M.Tech and Distribution Central as one of three Riverbed Australian distributors.

Avnet will distribute Riverbed’s full product portfolio, including cloud data protection, WAN optimisation and edge-VSI to enterprise channels.

Riverbed A/NZ regional director Ian Raper said the company had ended its partnership with Westcon and appointed Avnet to fall in line with a global strategy.

“We’ve spent a lot of time refining our channel partner strategy so this is an expression of that,” he said. “Avnet has been distributing for us in the US and Europe for some time, so we’re simply adopting that as part of the global strategy.”
