Trend Micro's new channel marketing manager, Vanessa McCamley talks to CRN about her new role after joining the company five weeks ago.

McCamley, who formerly worked for Microsoft joined her colleagues to chat to customers and partners about the Worry-Free SMB business solution at the Ingram Micro Expotech in Sydney today.

She said she was looking forward to the new role because she will be working with channel managers in driving joint business and marketing plans.

Trend Micro has three levels of accreditation for partners as part of its Affinity channel program with 30 partners in Tier 1.

"I will be working together with partners to create a marketing plan and execute that," she said.

"Companies are letting a lot of people go but we are hiring. We are also putting a lot of money into marketing and go-to-market initiatives, which is why I wanted to join the company.

"I love working with partners. It's a great event to make contact with existing partners, resellers and customers. I've been getting testimonials from customers who have used our software.

"I feel passionate about making contact with partners because this is what our job is all about," she added.

Prior to Trend Micro, McCamley spent 18 months as marketing manager at Kronos APAC and five years as the marketing manager for Microsoft solutions, responsible for all the dynamic suite of products.
