The company was named the Asia Pacific Network Security Vendor of the Year at the 2009 Frost & Sullivan APAC ICT Awards.

Frost & Sullivan recognised leading companies and individuals from various segments of the Information and Communications Technologies (ICT) industry and an awards ceremony was held in Singapore.

Adam Judd, senior VP Juniper Networks APAC said expanding networks and increasing security threats drive the growth for network security solutions in Asia Pacific.

Adding that as security threats become more sophisticated, businesses need to rethink their security strategy.

"They need to consider security solutions that help them achieve optimum levels of protection from internal and external threats, keeping their organisation secure and focused on its core business," he said.

"This achievement validates Juniper's leadership in delivering high-performance network security products to the market."

The award is selected by a panel of judges comprising senior executives from the industry including CIOs, CTOs and Frost & Sullivan analysts.

"This award is a testament of the relentless efforts of the team at Juniper Networks in delivering exceptional business performance for the year 2008 and we believe the company is set to further enhance its Security footprint in the region," said Nitin Bhat, senior VP APAC ICT practice, Frost & Sullivan.
