TCS in $250-mln deal with Tata Teleservices

Private telecom service provider, Tata Teleservices Ltd., said on Wednesday it had outsourced its IT infrastructure management to Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), the top software services exporter.

MUMBAI (Reuters) - Private telecom service provider, Tata Teleservices Ltd., said on Wednesday it had outsourced its IT infrastructure management to Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), the top software services exporter.

The contract -- which includes services for Tata Teleservices (Maharashtra) Ltd. (TTML) -- is estimated at about US$250 million over five years.

Shares in Tata Consultancy rose 0.9 percent to 1,475 rupees and shares in Tata Teleservices (Maharashtra) rose 8.3 percent to 32.65 rupees in a firm market.
