Optus has revealed a 5GB maximum data allowance for its iPhone 4S plans, trumping Vodafone on size.
The two telcos unveiled prices for the new Apple devices Sunday and started taking orders. Only Telstra has yet to reveal its prices.
Optus' offer of 5GB came on its $99 a month plan and excess data charges set at 25 cents a megabyte.
Vodafone's biggest data offer was 3GB a month on a $79 plan. Additional data use was charged at 50 cents a megabyte, with a minimum session size of 12 KB.
The cheapest Optus phone plan was $49 a month plus the cost of the handset, which ranged from an extra $10 a month for the 16GB device to $19 a month for the 64GB model.
Vodafone offered a smaller $29 a month plan entry point. iPhone handset costs began at $15 a month (16GB) climbing to $25 a month for the 64GB device.
The carriers also released details of the iPhone 4 8GB. The latest iPhone devices were launched by Apple last week.
