Donovan replaced Fred King who left the company in June.
Donovan joined VMware from Novell where he was the Asia-Pacific channels vice-president. Prior to that he was the vice president of channels and head of Symantec in Australia and New Zealand between 1999 and 2007, his Linked-in profile stated.
