Interactive Intelligence has announced the appointment of Brad Starr as senior pre-sales engineer for Australia, New Zealand and the Pacific region.

Based in Sydney, Starr joins Interactive Intelligence with 15 years’ experience in the contact centre industry. Starr was previously senior sales engineer at Noble Systems Australia.
Clearswift has appointed Chris Barton as regional channel manager for Asia Pacific.

Based at Clearswift’s regional headquarters in Sydney, Barton is responsible for strategic channel planning and strategy.

Formerly regional sales manager (NZ) at Websense, Barton has more than 10 years experience in the IT security industry.
Sophos has promoted Zoe Nicholson to the role of director of channel sales in Asia Pacific after six years as channel sales manager of Sophos in Australia and New Zealand. In her new role, Nicholson will recruit, develop and manage Sophos’s channel partner network.

Prior to joining Sophos, Nicholson held senior roles with Psion Teklogix and Research Machines in the UK. She joined Sophos at the company’s Abingdon, UK headquarters and held various senior business development roles for four years before moving to Sophos’s local subsidiary in Australia in September 2004.

Tony Warhurst has joined Aastra at the company's channel manager for Australia & New Zealand. Prior to joining Aastra, Warhurst was a manager at TW Conulting which joined after fours years as director of Shoretel SE Asia. Warhurst will focus on growing the company's channel within the region. He has over 25 years experience in the IT and communications industry.
WatchGuard regional director for Australia and New Zealand Scott Robertson will also now serve as the company’s Asia Pacific vice president for Channels and Alliances. Based in Sydney, Robertson takes up the newly created role while retaining his position as the company's ANZ chief.
Lexmark has appointed of Les Howarth as the company’s country manager for Australia and New Zealand. Based in Sydney, Howarth will report directly to Chin Hon-Cheng, vice president, Asia Pacific, Lexmark International (Singapore). He is responsible for operations throughout Australia and New Zealand. Howarth joined Lexmark from a country manager role at Radware. He has also spent time at Citrix Systems, F5 Networks and HP.
NEC Australia has appointed Alan Hyde as managing director. Hyde replaced Wataru Takeuchi who has returned to Japan and became NEC's first non-Japanese head in its 41 year Australian history.

Hyde spent five years at SAP as general manager for the Northern Region before taking over as CEO in 2007. Before that he held a number of positions at PeopleSoft in Australia and the UK. He started his career in ICT at IBM in Australia.

The appointment signal'sNEC’s intention to accelerate the growth of its systems integration and services businesses in Australia, the company said.

Clearswift has appointed former Websense Australia chief Phil Vasic as regional director of its Asia Pacific operations.

Based in Sydney, Vasic is responsible for the security vendor's growth strategy and channel in the region.

Vasic has 15 years experience in enterprise sales including ANZ country manager at Surfcontrol/Websense where he spent over four years.

, has been appointed to the newly created role of director Canon Consumer Imaging with accountability for all consumer product sales and marketing activities. Jason has been with Canon for almost fours years and most recently he held the role of senior general manager - Indirect Sales at Canon.

Craig Manson

has been appointed to the newly created role of director Canon Business Imaging with accountability for all production print and office print sales and marketing activities. Manson has been with Canon for nearly six years, running both the Business and Consumer divisions in New Zealand, before being promoted to managing director of Canon New Zealand. Since February 2009 he has been heading the Consumer and Business Marketing teams in Australia.

Business telecommunications provider Comscentre has welcomed new product manager for voice and data, Mick Valerius, to its Brisbane team. Valerius will work with Comscentre clients to design and build voice and data network infrastructure.

With more than 15 years experience in the telecommunications industry, Valerius has held roles with the Federal Department of Transport, PowerTel, RequestDSL and most recently AAPT.

NetIQ has appointed Karen Jacobsson as Northern Region manager. With over 20 years experience in senior roles in the ICT sector, Jacobsson will oversee NetIQ’s enterprise accounts and lead business development opportunities for the company’s northern region territory. She will be responsible for servicing major accounts across the finance and banking, insurance and managed service provider industry verticals.
