Barkla to head SAP

Former Unisys APAC general manager Andrew Barkla has scored the top job as managing director for SAP Australia and New Zealand. Barkla brings 20 years of local experience, including stints at PeopleSoft and System Software Associates.

Chambers steps up at AMD

Following the promotion of A/NZ country manager Brian Slattery to a regional role based in Singapore, AMD has elevated national retail sales manager Peter Chambers to A/NZ country manager. Chambers has previously held sales positons at Fuji Xerox and Lexmark.

Dias to run EMC

EMC has completed a month-long search for a new country manager to replace former A/NZ managing director David Webster, who was promoted to APAC president in June. Former EMC New Zealand country manager Alister Dias has assumed the role, and will be responsible for sales and channel partners across A/NZ.

Anittel names sales chief

Michael Cook has joined Anittel as national sales director, operating out of Perth. Cook's IT career spans 35 years, with the last 26 years spent in Western Australia's tech community. Cook previously worked with Anittel MD Peter Kazacos at Kaz.

Veteran joins NetComm

Craig Turner, a 25-year industry veteran, is the new general manager of product management at NetComm Wireless. He comes to NetComm after a stint at PieNetworks. Turner has previously held a range of senior management roles at Telstra.

SAP invests in education

SAP A/NZ has recruited Aroon Wadvani as education channel manager across the region, working in collaboration with SAP's ecosystem & channel, university alliance program (UAP). Wadvani comes from IBm and has held roles at Oracle.

Ninefold builds cloud

Public cloud provider Ninefold has appointed Sean Jarman (pictured) and Shaun Domingo to support its commercial and development teams, as commercial manager and software development manager respectively. Jarman's history includes stints at Ericsson, Shell and Orange, while Domingo has worked at the likes of Hyro and Optus.

Pronto appoints two GMs

Pronto Software has named Frank Falcone (pictured) as general manager for New South Wales, and Peter David as general manager for Victoria, South Australia and Tasmania. Falcone previously worked at Datacom while David arrives from the distribution arm of a Hong Kong manufacturing group.

Intermec fills slot

Scott Le has left IBM and a role as distribution partner manager for Avnet to Intermec in a similar role looking after Avnet. Le spent 10 years at IBM working with direct end user accounts as well as managing channel partners and distributors.

F5 strengthens team

F5 Networks, a specialist in ADN, has announced Mohan Veloo as is new senior director of field system engineering across APAC and Japan. Veloo has more than a decade's experience in technical team leadership, and has worked at the likes of Cisco and Oracle.
