Unified communications disti, Uptime Distribution has announced it has inked an agreement with LAN networking vendor, ProCurve Networking by HP in Australia and Fiji.
The contract will see Uptime Distribution add ProCurve’s 3500, 5400 and 8200 gigabit Ethernet switch products to its distribution portfolio. Uptime will also have access to enterprise networking technologies designed to complement unified communications solutions.
Tony Geagea, managing director, Uptime Distribution said: “Unified communications is a focal point at the moment; it’s a big buzz word around town. The agreement with ProCurve complements the other technologies in our portfolio and underpins our unified communications offering.”
Geagea credits Uptime’s channel enablement model with accelerating the growth of the company and drawing vendors like ProCurve. It features end user lead generation for resellers, pre-sales consulting and advice, end user and partner training, 24 hour service and support, as well as demo centre facilities.
“We see huge opportunity to be a leader in this market. When you consider the value we can add, we have the capabilities in this market, the skills in technology and sales, and an understanding of the product – we’ve leveraged it in the past,” said Geagea.
ProCurve joins Expand Networks, Trapeze Networks and GN Jabra as the fourth vendor in the past eight months to sign with Uptime Distribution. Geagea indicated that the disti is actively seeking additional partners, however the selection process is comprehensive.
“We are currently running a recruitment campaign and we're profiling companies. We want the right kind of partners to grow and drive the business,” he said.
Looking ahead, Geagea is optimistic that the partnership with ProCurve will facilitate Uptime’s channel strategy, which has been successful in recent years.
“In the last three years, Uptime has achieved success and this is another opportunity to add to its service-based distribution … we also want to set partners up for success,” he stated.
