Following the
recent acquisition
of Getronics, UXC – an ASX listed integrator – has acquired Lucid IT, a major player in the ITIL market.
Cris Nicolli, managing director, UXC Business Solutions Group told
CRN
that the addition of the Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) company will add to UXC’s consulting and education capabilities.
“We have complex service level clients and we’ve certainly sensed that these clients want a strong player in the ITIL sector," he said.
Nicolli stated that Lucid IT would come under the umbrella of UXC, however it would continue to operate as an autonomous business unit.
"Lucid will be able to take advantage of the UXC infrastructure while operating as they have done in the past," he said. "It's a good cultural fit, we are very comfortable with the way Hans Schipok is running the company."
Based in Sydney, Lucid also has offices in ACT, Victoria, Queensland and Western Australia. Customers include the ANZ bank, Qantas and the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade.
“The opportunities that come from being part of a larger organisation are important as this will help our clients become more confident of our future and allow Lucid IT open up larger consulting and education services prospects,” said Hans Schipok, managing director, Lucid IT.
Nicolli is confident the relationship will translate into financial rewards for the integrator as it approaches enterprise-level clients with a specialist in the ITIL field.
"This move is part of our game plan," said Nicolli. "We have complex service level clients and we’ve certainly sensed that these clients want a strong player in the ITIL appliances market."
UXC would not disclose the purchase price, however the figure is based on current earnings and includes a mixture of cash and shares.
