New alliance in records management

Document processing services provider CCH Workflow Solutions has announced an alliance with records management vendor AXS-One.

The partnership was formed with the intention to provide an integrated software-as-a-service solution (SaaS) for organisations without existing document retention and archiving systems, claimed the vendor.

Gary Kendrick, managing director of CCH Workflow Solutions, welcomed the partnership as a chance to streamline the company’s service delivery.

“We have a great working relationship with AXS-One and look forward to developing our litigation support services further with them,” he said.

CCH will roll out its hosted e-Discovery service suite using AXS-One’s Compliance Platform. The company claimed that the ‘Live Archive’ software will allow in-house legal departments to electronically archive electronic documents in a web-searchable repository and allow organisations to run case-related searches on the documents in the event of litigation.

With numerous statutory record retention requirements and an ever-present possibility of legal action, Kendrick hopes the new offering will have broad appeal in the SMB space.

"Unmanaged email and other electronic business records pose a significant corporate risk. By integrating AXS-One's Compliance Platform into CCH ‘Live Archive’ we can help corporations alleviate the headache involved in quickly finding and preserving relevant data in the event of litigation,” he said.

According to David Thompson, vice president APAC at AXS-One, hosted archive management is set to become increasingly popular in 2008.

"Gartner predicts that by 2009, the proportion and variety of externally sourced functionality in the IT application portfolio, such as business process outsourcing and software-as-a-service offerings will at least double,” he said.

He added: "We are very pleased to partner with CCH Workflow Solutions, Asia Pacific’s market leader in the delivery of legal document processing services and workflow solutions to meet complex information, compliance and risk management requirements."
