Newly merged Axway and Tumbleweed have started their partner training program ahead of the release of their solution in November.

The two companies, who became partners last month, thanks to an acquisition with the Sopra Group, are in discussions to capitalise on the Tumbleweed Alliance Program network in Australia.

Axway (a subsidiary of the Sopra Group) has introduced a three-phase strategy to integrate Tumbleweed’s managed file transfer (MFT), email security and ID validation products.

According to Andy Wilkinson senior vice president APAC Axway, the company wants to focus on the banking and financial market, healthcare, and accounting.

“We are currently in talks about the training and support we can offer and how these solutions fit together. Last week a team of people from the US met with our Tumbleweed partners,” said Wilkinson.

“We want to capitalise on the deal as quickly as we can. There is a lot of excitement over the merger. Tumbleweed is a very successful company. We want to keep the acceleration going at the same time as integrating the two companies together,” he added.

According to Stree Naidu, regional vice president APJ Axway, the company is introducing its brand to its channel partners over the coming weeks to identify opportunities and additional revenue streams for its Alliance Program partners.

He said training on the Axway solutions, which will be across the Synchrony platform, will focus on the Top 10 Tumbleweed Alliance Program partners initially, to be rolled out next month then finalised in November.

The Tumbleweed partners are concentrated in the financial services sector and are geographically located in Sydney, Melbourne and Canberra.

The early adopters for the Synchrony suite of solutions will come from the banking sector.

“We believe that our premier partners can double their revenue within a six to 12 month time frame with the incorporation of the Axway Synchrony solutions suite,” said Naidu.

As part of Phase 1, Axway will provide end-to-end visibility, analytics, and internal file transfer capabilities to customers of Tumbleweed’s MFT solution, SecureTransport.

Phase 2 will integrate core Tumbleweed products into Axway’s Synchrony framework. Phase 3 will merge any similar products into a single solution.
