ISPhone Australasia, a Voice-over IP provider, has appointed Barbar Mennah as its new Chief Operating Officer.
Prior to joining the company, Mennah held senior executive positions in Optus, CITIC Hong Kong and Reach where he developed knowledge of the telecom industry in Australia.
He joins ISPhone during a period of substantial growth in the business. The firm recently moved to new premises offering nearly double capacity and has made significant investment in its network infrastructure, including a new Point of Presence (POP) in Brisbane.
Mennah’s role will be to oversee all aspects of operations as the company embarks on an aggressive expansion campaign in 2009, with plans for further staff increases and infrastructure investment.
“Over the past year ISPhone has seen massive growth in its customer base and revenue,” said Mennah.
“They have done an excellent job of building a solid business model and upgrading the previous technology infrastructure to create a long term endeavour of excellence.
“My goal is to help ensure our next phase of development continues to achieve the highest level of quality and professionalism with the proper structure and organisation required of a serious enterprise,” he added.
Gavin McDougal, managing director of ISPhone, said Mennah’s experience as a highly respected senior manager in some of Australia’s top Telcos brings great leadership, organisation and vision to the company.
“This is an exciting time for ISPhone and we are thrilled to have Barbar join the team,” he said.
