Just a month after Orange reported solid third quarter financial results, Orange Business Services has been named ‘Best Global Operator’.

It has won the award previously for the past two years. Orange Business Services was awarded by Terripin at the World Communication Awards (WCA), in London.

Tim Cavill, managing director Australasia, at Orange Business Services, said, the award underlines achievements made by it as a converged operator in proving networking and communications services.

“This year has been significant for Orange Business Services Australia, as we continued to maintain growth throughout A/NZ,” he said.

The award was appointed by a global panel of experts including representatives from Frost & Sullivan, ITU-APT Foundation of India, Booz Allen Hamilton, The Economist, Ovum, Multimap, Grupo Santander, Total Telecom, Anchusa Consulting Ltd, Telekom Online, European Telecommunications Network Operators' Association (ETNO), KPMG, The Economist, EVUA (the Enterprise Virtual Network User Association), and Telemark Services Ltd.

Celebrating 10 years of corporate and personal success in global communications, the World Communication Awards, recognises significant achievements and developments in the global telecoms industry.

Orange was also awarded ‘Best Mobile Operator’ for the second year running and Yazid Chir, a pioneer in virtualisation solutions from Orange Business Services, was honoured with the tribute of Best Change Maker for establishing an organisation (NQT) which helps people from disadvantaged areas in Paris to find work suited to their skills.

It was also awarded ‘Highly Commended’ for Orange Sport Info (Best Content Service), Orange Business Together (Best Managed Service) and for Near-Field Communications (Best Technology Foresight).
