Lexmark has appointed Altech as a new channel distributor for Australia.
The partnership is part of Lexmark’s commitment to grow in the Small and Medium Business segment, and is the first distribution partner appointment by the company in four years.
Altech will offer national distribution of Lexmark’s Professional Series range of inkjet and laser products, targeted toward SMB’s.
According to Carmel Mosser, general manager, Channel and Emerging Accounts, Lexmark A/NZ, this is an exciting appointment for the company in Australia.
“The decision to appoint Altech is very much in line with Lexmark’s strong focus on SMB and complements our Lexmark Means Business channel strategy,” she said.
Altech Computers Corporation is a privately owned Australian company, launched in 1997.
It distributes computer components and pre-built systems and has warehouse facilities in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Perth, Adelaide, Auckland and Hong Kong.
“We’re pleased that Lexmark has recognised the opportunity to broaden their market reach in the SMB space,” said Antony Sheen, managing director, Altech.
“Through the appointment of Altech, our primary focus is on the independent reseller channel, which has been identified by Lexmark as key to their push into the SMB space.”
Sheen said Altech was excited about adding another Tier 1 vendor to its product catalogue and is already experiencing strong demand from its resellers for Lexmark products.
The Altech account will be managed by Maria Fadel, Lexmark’s Distribution Relationship Manager.
