Marshal8e6 has inked a deal with YOURasp, a hosted application, internet and email provider to use its MailMarshal Service Provider Edition (SPE).

YOURasp's 400 resellers will provide their customers with a hosted email screening service to give businesses secure access to email.

The company looked at several solutions and needed one which was multi-tenanted and pay-as-you-go for easy scalability.

It needed flexible customisation for bundling and rebranding other products to assist resellers in developing relationships with their customers.

According to Bob Grove, YOURasp's regional sales manager, the company needed a screening process that would complement the services it currently hosts and to support its partner channel.

"We found that our hosted email partners needed a cleaner, more secure service so their business customers would have the cleanest and most secure email service available," he said.

"Marshal8e6's MailMarshal SPE was the only service that satisfied all of our criteria.

"MailMarshal SPE's unique screening process categorises email and then allows users to determine how that categorised email is to be processed further," he added.

Grove said it also needed a solution that supported its McAfee resellers.

He said it wanted a product that had an embedded McAfee email scanning service because every email scanning service it reviewed was a cosmetic wrapping over the top over some other major vendor's product.

"Marshal8e6's product satisfied our requirement to have the strength of a McAfee scanning engine to support those resellers we had selling and supporting McAfee desktop solutions," he said.

"Previous email scanning products we tried often had embedded footers and logos which did not suit our partners needs.

"We recognise our partners need to own the relationship with their customers and the Marshal8e6 product provided the scope and capacity for a customised solution to be developed by the partner.

"It allowed them to be a leading light, they could provide a solution that was at an enterprise level but could support their own brand.

"Through web based consoles our partners can now offer a cleaner, more secure service to their customer as well as provide overall management of that client's complete security solutions," added Grove.
