Ingram Micro is cementing its place as a digital signage distributor after revealing its holding a series of education seminars for resellers attending Expotech 2009.

The first was held in Sydney at the Convention Centre in Darling Harbour with Brisbane, Melbourne, Adelaide and Perth to follow.

Speaking to CRN during the show, Jacqueline Bergin, business unit manager CHOS for Ingram Micro Australia said the distributor is now a destination for digital signage.

"We want to facilitate resellers, to educate them to sell the solution," she said.

NEC, Panasonic, Netgear and Dr PC are Ingram Micro's digital signage partners.

Together, the vendors and the distributor skilled resellers on how to deploy digital signage, explained content management, networking, security and the marketing tool's overall benefits.

"It's a different way of messaging," said Bergin.

The Sydney seminar attracted 24 resellers but 180 people had registered to attend.

Bergin said attendance was lower than expected but 180 registrations showed there is interest.

"We now want to understand why," she said.
