NetBox Blue announces 3G mobile broadband compatibility

NetBox Blue is offering customers a disaster recovery option, announcing it is now compatible with 3G mobile broadband.

Customers can failover to a 3G USB modem if their internet fails.

"Unfortunately internet links fail," said John Fison chairman NetBox Blue.

"It's an inconvenient fact of life. Businesses in Queensland will recall the massive disruption caused to the entire state when a fibre optic link was severed by contractors on the Gold Coast last year. An incident like this is unavoidable but it doesn't have to bring down the whole business."

The new compatibility feature enables the NetBox to use PipePlus technology to failover to an Optus 3G mobile broadband connection if a company's internet link is severed.

PipePlus is a premium feature on the NetBox that gives companies access to multiple internet links.

If there's an internet failure, PipePlus migrates all traffic to another link, without any user intervention.
It also provides load balancing between multiple links and includes a traffic shaping module that enables a business to prioritise applications or particular types of data.

"No business can afford to be without the internet, even for even a short time. The loss of an internet connection for several hours is a major disaster. NetBox Blue offers a very cost-effective safeguard against that threat," added Fison.
