Vasili Triant managing director South East Asia for ShoreTel is looking for resellers as the company launches Version 9 of its UC software.

After being in the job for nearly four months, Triant is starting a monthly Tech Seminar which will be held in different locations across the country.

The first one will be held at the Queensland Rugby Club Ballymore, in Brisbane next week.

It is the first time ShoreTel has held the seminars in Australia and the focus will be on customers and how resellers can reduce their operational costs.

Triant used to work as an IP telephony reseller in the states for four years selling Mitel and Cisco solutions.

His company then went on to design and sell solutions for the ShoreTel UC platform before joining ShoreTel as regional director for the South West United States and Mexico.

"I can talk to resellers straight from being in their shoes. I know what their 'pain points' are," he said.

"I am not an advocate of single product resellers. If you already have three products you can't manage a fourth one otherwise you are not the right solution for us. You can't get ahead with more than three products, it will hurt your business.

"UC has been a big focus for us since our inception. ShoreTel spends a lot of time with customers in the channel to find out what people want. The Version 9 solution is as a result of direct feedback from our partners to help them become more productive," he added.

ShoreTel has recently taken on a partner in Melbourne and Darwin which will be announced in the coming weeks.

Triant is currently hiring staff. He recently appointed a national partner manager, regional sales manager, David West as business development manager and is currently looking for a channel manager for Northern Australia.

He hopes to take on four more people in the next three months.

"We are always looking for sales people. My focus is on growing the channel in Australia and resellers can earn margins of between 25 and 40 percent. I want to increase the number of resellers we have from about 15 to 40," said Triant.

"We build a program to help resellers secure business. My focus is on them to help them become profitable and successful. If they are healthy and growing they survive in this market."
