Local distributor of diverse IP products brings virtualisation management and security vendor to Australia and New Zealand.

Lan 1 has signed a distribution agreement with Reflex Systems to bring its product - Virtualisation Management Centre (VMC) and Virtual Security Appliance (VSA) to the region.

VMC combines a centralised event database, virtual infrastructure integration and analysis engines with a visual interface to administer, audit, secure and monitor virtual infrastructures.

VSA is monitoring and control software that runs on each physical host.

It provides security controls by integrating firewall, deep packet inspection, reporting, application awareness and change control into a complete virtual security solution.

This architecture enables the VMC to scale to virtual machines spanning multiple locations. The VMC automatically monitors and filters all virtual network traffic (including all application protocols).

Both products support VMWare ESX 3.x, Citrix XenServer 4.x, Microsoft HyperV and others.

Christo Simeonoff, manger of IP Security Business at Lan 1, said, the problem with virtual networks is that they can be invisible to normal controls and compliance processes.

"We expect to see a lot of new VMware-centric resellers jumping onboard once they see the advantages and value proposition the Reflex products offer," he said.

Lan 1's entire IP Security portfolio, including Reflex Systems, will be on display at the AusCERT 2009 Conference on the Gold Coast, booth B19.
