Intermec has announced its 2008 Global Honours Partner Award winners, acknowledging 22 key channel partners for their work to deliver innovative supply chain solutions.

The awards were announced during a company webinar called the Virtual Global Sales Summit, announcing it has added over 200 global channel partners in the first four months of 2009.

Awards in the APAC region went to Gamma Solutions - Partner of the Year; Infor - ISV of the Year; First Logic Technology - Innovator of the Year and Beijing Acctrue Century Tech - New Market Innovator of the Year.

Michael Atallah, managing director of Gamma Solutions said he was very proud to receive the recognition from Intermec, and to partner with its field leading supply chain technology.

"As one of the largest and most innovative supply chain technology resellers in Australia we are committed to providing quality practical and flexible solutions to suit the needs of our customers," he said.

The Partner Awards recognise industry leaders from around the world for their account wins, year-over-year growth, and ability to integrate new and emerging technology into their customer solutions.

It also commends partners who demonstrate the greatest success in protecting and enhancing their customers' supply chain investments.

"It's always extremely gratifying to honor the achievements of our channel partners," said Natalie Silvesti, director of channel marketing for Intermec.

"Our channel partners are the critical "last-mile" link in our value chain, and their success becomes a shared success for Intermec and our mutual customers."

The channel growth for Intermec includes the addition of distributors in China (ECS), New Zealand (Sektor Distributors Ltd.), and EMEA (Providis).

Rhys Warren, Sektor's general manager, said it was perfect timing because it was looking for an AIDC and Mobility offering and Intermec was completing a global review of its distribution strategy and partners.

Intermec's managing director A/NZ, Tony Repaci added Sektor will provide a greater amount of local support for its New Zealand partners, including technical services, pre-sale services and local stock holding.

The distribution of products to Intermec's New Zealand partners was previously provided from Australia.

"Intermec has been a well-proven but low-hype player in the New Zealand market," said Andre van Duiven, mobility product manager Sektor .

"Those that know the brand, respect it. With the Sektor team's knowledge and local support we see the opportunity to really make a difference for Intermec in New Zealand.

"The Intermec product features are certainly there to justify it. Sektor is already live with the Intermec product range on its website," he added.
