As part of the deal, Dimension Data will resell Sandisk Enterprise's full range of secure USB flash drives with Tudor.
Anton Goldman, director for Tudor told CRN that the deal is a step towards working with Dimension Data globally.
"The partnership in Australia, with it being the largest security practice for Dimension Data globally, is significant for us," said Goldman. "The rest of the world will look at it as a global test bed," he said.
Locally, Tudor has existing resellers in place but Dimension Data will predominately cater into government and enterprise customers, said Goldman.
Darren O'Loughlin, general manager of Security for Dimension Data said, portable storage devices can be extremely useful in a business context, but they are vulnerable to data loss.
"Our role as a security solutions provider is to ensure effective management of risk and to act as a business enabler for our enterprise clients and SanDisk is an easy-to-implement and quality solution to prevent data loss," said O'Loughlin.
The distributor commenced operations in Australia in July 2007 to distribute Sandisk Enterprise. Tudor has operated in South Africa for over 50 years.
"We worked with Sandisk for over 10 years in retail, OEM and enterprise and that relationship spawned the decision to go to market in Australia and New Zealand," said Goldman.
The reseller agreement was signed in early May.
