Blue Coat Systems has opened a Perth office to extend its operations throughout Western Australia, Southern Australia and the Northern Territory.

Martin Conway, territory manager for WA, SA and NT, will head the Perth office after an eight year stint as WA State Manager with EMC.

In these geographies, where distributed enterprises are so prevalent, the network and the efficient delivery of business-enabling applications is critical to success," said Martin Conway.

Wayne Neich, country manager, Australia and New Zealand at Blue Coat said: "Martin has the extensive experience that Blue Coat requires to scale its presence across Western Australia and work with organisations to optimise and secure the flow of information."

According to the vendor, it will continue to work closely with its key channel partners to service customers throughout the region.

In a statement released to media Blue Coast said: "The channel will play an important role in supporting Blue Coat's local customer base of resources companies, government agencies, financial institutions, health services and commercial entities."

Earlier this Blue Coast expanded its reach into Canberra to further develop its installed base of Federal Government and new customers in the region.
