Terry Dunn, from Ingram Micro New Zealand, will sit on the Storage Networking Industry Association's(SNIA)board of directors.

Ingram Australia and New Zealand has joined the SNIA A/NZ branch.

Craig Scroggie, chairman of SNIA A/NZ, said with Ingram Micro's broad reach into the channel, its assistance in helping to drive its strategic education programs into the channel will be invaluable.

"Our programs are facilitated by volunteer subject matter experts in their respective fields acting as industry evangelists," he said.

"We need to harness the right expertise to continue providing impartial technology education and to expand the storage community knowledge base in this region.

"Having Terry Dunn on our board, together with the industry expertise that Ingram Micro offers, will enable us to achieve that objective."

In his board member role Dunn will also focus on increasing SNIA A/NZ's presence and a range of activities in New Zealand.

Dunn recently joined Ingram Micro as general manager - Server Storage Business Unit following the company's acquisition of value added distributors (VAD) earlier this year.

He has worked in the IT industry since the early 1980s, was a founding director of VAD and has worked with many of the major industry vendors.
