Networking vendor unleashes a home wireless entertainment projector server.

The Edimax WP-S1100 utilises the latest wireless technology, high definition compatibility, security features to deliver a big screen experience and ease of access to the projector or TV.

Featuring the ability to play HD content, the WP-S1100 projector server has an HDMI output and supports full HD 1080p and encodes a range of video formats including H.264.

The WP-S1100 utilses wireless N standards ideal for wireless video streaming from the media server or PC to a home cinema, boardroom or venues that require multimedia streaming.

Greg Jan managing director, Edimax Technology Australia, told CRN, resellers can make up to 40 percent profit margin on its products.

"Australia is known as a mature market when it comes to uptake of new technologies and Edimax sees growth areas in this region networking, telecommunications and wireless solutions," he said.

"Edimax will primarily target the consumer and SMB space and of particular focus will be the 802.11 N standards."

Jan said the company has been manufacturing networking products since 1986 and opened an Australian branch in August 2008.

"Edimax works with the distributor/reseller model," he said.

"At the moment there are 400 resellers that have been selling Edimax.

"We aim to reach 1000 resellers and plan to have an aggressive growth in Australia making sure our existing reseller base understands how to resell networking or wireless solutions."

Jan said the vendor's products were being distributed by Bluechip Infotech.
