The "Biggest Promotion in the Channel" ran from 12 November to 30 April.

It was held to promote sales of HP ML Series and DL Series servers, HP/Microsoft bundled servers and HP/Microsoft OEM products.

For each qualifying product sold, channel partners received an entry into the draw.

Tony Cascio, director of Metropolitan Computers and Supplies in Sydney, struck gold with the first prize of $110k.

"When I got the call, I thought someone was pulling my leg'" said Cascio.

"But it eventually sank in I'd actually won when I was at an HP function and one of the HP guys I knew sidled up and said he'd heard I might be good for a loan."

Metropolitan Computers and Supplies employs a team of eight people.

It focuses on the enterprise corporate and SME market, and Cascio says the company has been a loyal HP reseller since its inception almost 13 years ago.

Second prize of $50k went to Lorenzo Coppa, director of City Software in Melbourne, with third and fourth prizes of $20k going to Riccay Schmal, director of Compar Holdings of Sydney, and Janice Vickery, director of I Know IT.

Matt Sanderson, senior director of Volume Business Unit & Consumer at Ingram Micro said the promotion was a great success.

"We had over 500 channel partners participating in the promotion, with a massive number of entries from participants," he added.
