McEvoy Thomas is an Australian boutique organisation specialising in integrating information security solutions.

The partnership will enable Cyberoam to increase its reach over the SME sector.

Alkesh Soneji, country manager, Cyberoam, said McEvoy liked the fact that it has selected partners across the globe to prevent commoditisation of the product.

He said it also had the expertise to leverage Cyberoam to larger entities and corporations offering security services to a number of companies in Australia.

"Large-scale resellers like McEvoy can help expand Cyberoam's presence in the enterprise sector," said Soneki.

"McEvoy approached Cyberoam by filling out an online page link sometime last year.  They also attended one of our roadshows in February this year.

"Cyberoam executives were in touch, and our distributor MPA Systems took it through a demo of the product.

"Once McEvoy was convinced on the product capabilities, both parties then started discussing business.

"There have been serious discussions of partnerships for the past three months now," he added.

McEvoy Thomas' reputation has been built on providing information security solutions to many of Australia's top 100 companies and some elite global enterprises.

Cyberoam has signed more than 10 resellers recently including Macpro Technologies, Interlex and City Systems.

Scott Thomas, director of McEvoy Thomas said the company gained its reputation by providing customers with best of breed solutions.

"Cyberoam UTM is one such solution due to its identity based technology which would enable the enterprises to tackle both external and internal threats," he said.
