Galas Technology looks like it has disappeared, owing business partners money and stock

Galas Technology, a Sydney distributor, looks like it has closed shop this week.

Former Galas Technology partner Sheng Lin, owner of Melbourne-based distributor, GoldenAge, told CRN he no longer worked with Galas Technology.

Lin and Galas Technology managing director, Peter Xie, joined forces in August last year to help the Sydney distributor enter the Melbourne market.

At the time Lin served as the distributor's director of sales and marketing.

"I left on 1st of March, this year. GoldenAge has remained a separate company from Galas and we still have our own ABN," said Lin.

"I'm currently chasing them for stock and money, but I haven't been able to get in touch with [Xie]."

Lin wouldn't elaborate on the monetary value of the stock but said it was "a lot".
"I have called his mobile and left him messages. Then I heard he went overseas however he might be back now.

"If [CRN] gets though to him can you tell him I need to talk to him as well?"

CRN's calls to Xie's mobile phone and office in Sydney went unanswered.

Galas Technology's website was also down. A quick search on ASIC showed the company was still registered.

The distributor's vendor partners include; LG and Omni.

LG's national sales manager Charlie Harb told CRN that the distributor was still on his books and that they were trying to "sort things out". "It's a sensitive situation. I can't comment right now," said Harb.

Additional reporting by Sholto Macpherson and Nathan Cochrane.
