Telephony vendor makes SME play.

ShoreTel's presence in Victoria was strengthened yesterday with the addition of B&D Technologies and Metro Communications to its Australia-wide partner program.

The additions increase Shoretel's national reach which has gained momentum in the Australian market over the last 12 months to reach 44 partners.

It also signalled the IP telephony vendor's drive to expand further into the medium to large enterprise space as well as bolstering its rural reach.

ShoreTel's managing director for South East Asia, Vasili Triant (pictured), said, "We have great coverage across all the states, [we're] even able to stretch into the rural areas outside of city central hubs."

Vasili said, "Service and customer satisfaction are the keys to our coverage model."

Ballarat-based B&D Technologies provides telephony services to small and midsize businesses through to large enterprises.

Adrian Stevens, director for B&D Technologies, said, "Shoretel is easy to use, which is a huge advantage for companies of all sizes that have limited IT resources."

Meanwhile, Melbourne-based, Metro Communications' director John Franklin said he saw ShoreTel's [unified communications] UC solution "meeting the long term needs of our customers".
