Tonnex helps resellers sell online

Resellers can now sell via website.

Australian peripherals and computer consumables distributor, Tonnex, has launched an online product to enable its channel partners to create an online sales presense.

The solution - 'Instant Consumables Webshop' - gave partners access to an automated webshop, pre-populated with products from the Tonnex Pricelist and a fully integrated shopping cart.

To access 'Instant Consumables Webshop',  Tonnex partners would have to fork out a monthly fee of $149 with $0 setup costs.

James Rendell, national marketing manager at Tonnex International told CRN partners needed to be able to sell 24/7/ 365 days to "cater for the continually changing consumer behaviours".

"Everyone is time poor so they want efficiency and flexibility in how they shop," he said.

"Giving consumers access to buy on-line from their trusted local reseller from home or from the office is [another] opportunity for [partners].

The systems also allowed resellers to add in other products in addition to "genuine OEM consumables", including new categories and products.

"The system has been specifically built for non web developers," he said. "The setup wizard walks through each step of the setup process which will have them up and running in around 30 minutes".

Resellers also have the ability to customise settings on "what profit margins they wish to apply to different products and categories".

Partners can also choose the pricing structures they want to make available to their different customers and delivery charges to apply, Rendell said.

"[They can also] add which payment methods they wish to make available - including PayPal and a range of other on-line credit card payment modules."

Rendell said the engine used to run the webshop was on a server located in a secure data centre with multiple redundant power supplies.

"It also runs off carrier grade internet connections for maximum redundancy and uses 128-bit SSL security for the transmission of sensitive data such as credit card details," he said.

The idea for the facility, said Rendell, came about from research the distie conducted in October last year, which showed the product "had potential".

"We've had a range of resellers continually following up with us over the last 12 months interested to know when we would be launching the webshops," he said.
