Household-cleaner maker deploys mobile sales force solution.

Motorola premier partner Skywire has partnered with Microsoft gold partner ComOps to deploy a hosted mobile sales force automation system at household cleaning manufacturer S.C. Johnson & Son.

SC Johnson makes household cleaners under brands such as Baygon, Mr Muscle, Raid and Windex.

It deployed ComOps SAM product a year ago under a software-as-a-service contract that was today extended by a year.

Sales people for the manufacturer access the software on Motorola PDAs. They use it to keep in touch with head office and ensure they have the latest product, pricing and promotional information whenever they speak with a customer.

The software also has a reporting function to allow salespeople to view sales schedules, distribution results and to analyse territory trends on a daily basis, ComOps said.

SC Johnson's national field sales manager Trent Kiner said they chose the ComOps solution because it was "competitively priced" and the partner spent " time on the road with reps to understand our business and to ensure SAM was being used effectively".
