Talking up new partner growth.

Clearswift is conducting a recruitment campaign through its sole Australian and New Zealand distie Distribution Central to add partners to its network.

The vendor, which makes web and email gateway security products, had about 30 partners including five solution provider tier-one resellers and the rest tier-two sales associate resellers.

Asia-Pacific managing director Peter Croft told CRN it was part of the business's efforts to get in front of more partners.

"Many of them we've previously had a relationship with when our main product was MIMEsweeper but there are many others that are new enough in the security field to have not heard of us," Croft said.

"It's great for us to have a conversation with any of those guys on how we can fill out their portfolios with email and web security."

The drive came as Clearswift yesterday expanded a competitive trade-in offer to cover all web and email gateway security vendors after feedback from its channel partners.

The offer previously covered only Blue Coat and former SurfControl customers.

Customers could trade in their web gateway for a Clearswift web appliance and "pay only for support and update subscriptions", the vendor said.

Clearswift would pay "full channel margins, including deal registration" as part of the offer, which ended on December 31.
