Another customer signs on to infrastructure-as-a-service.

Brennan IT has snagged a three-year service provision contract with Singaporean hotel operator Rendezvous Hospitality Group (RHG).

Brennan will upgrade RHG's legacy systems, networking, data hosting and servicing platform.

Private IP WANs (wide area networks) will be installed in 15 hotels, with Brennan providing onsite support, hardware and software procurement, and voice and data connectivity.

Brennan also will migrate 17 of RHG's disparate domains to a centralised management environment and manage all servers as part of a fully managed Infrastructure-as-a-Service offering.

According to Brennan's head of marketing and product management, Nick McMenemy, the deal will involve "about 40 staff across every part of our business".

McMenemy described RHG's IT refresh as a shift from "old world, physical hardware to cloud-based infrastructure".

He declined to disclose the exact value of the deal, saying that it is worth a "substantial number" of millions. According to a report in The Australian, the refresh could be part of RHG's $147 million refurbishment program in Asia-Pacific and the Middle East.

Brennan will follow a 'phased migration' schedule with the entire process, including the installation of a new property management system, completed within six months.

The Brennan contract replaces an existing relationship between RHG and a smaller IT provider that RHG claims "could no longer support the needs of the expanded hotels group".

McMenemy said Brennan was chosen for a range of reasons, including its experience with cloud computing, IT management, networking and software development, and ability to deliver economies of scale as a nationwide consultancy.
