Clickfree launches in Australia, appoints distie.

Canadian consumer storage vendor Clickfree has launched an Australia presence, appointing Logitech veteran Marco Manera to the role of vice president sales and marketing for Asia Pacific.

Manera previously led Logitech Australia for about 10 years before a two year stint with Logitech in Europe.

Based in Sydney, Manera is responsible for identifying sales opportunities and building strategic partnerships in Asia Pacific for Clickfree.

"Marketwise, in Asia Pacific, we'll be opening up in the more advanced countries of Australia, New Zealand and Japan; then Singapore and Hong Kong.

"I'll be shortly hiring a country manager for Australia," Manera said.

Clickfree's storage devices target small offices and multi-computer households.

Clickfree today announced that it had appointed Synnex a nationwide distributor. Melbourne-based distributor Channel Partners was appointed as a distributor in May.

Clickfree has an existing distribution partnership with Synnex in North America but Manera said the "advantage with Synnex in Australia is logistics and access to the market nationwide".

"It's definitely the decider," he said.

Clickfree joins Seagate, WD, Kingston, Laser and HP in Synnex's storage line-up.
