Surely this list reflects one of the major deficiencies within the current IT industry.... where you laud a company as the fastest growing reseller in a year where they made a loss of over $1.4 million.

Here's to their amazing success.

Isn't growth through aquesition just an example of someone throwing cash around?

Where is the profit? Where is the long term business model? Where is the value?

Growth through aquesition didn't work for Solution 6 or Commander or Leading Solutions and it really doesn't seem to be working for Computer Corp.... er, I mean Synergy Plus.

But of course.... this time it's different!! I'm sure it will work.

Maybe you could re-publish the list showing ranking by NPAT.... but then of course it couldn't be called the "Fast" 50.

@wsblack999 Pick any metric you want, I guarantee someone will have a problem with it.

There are several ways to define a company's profitability - which is best? And do you really think companies would be willing to share that with their competitors, their business partners, their customers?

In fact one reseller told me his revenue shrank last financial year but he was more profitable, and he asked me why we didn't measure profit instead. At the CRN Fast50 dinner I put it to the 50 resellers there that they reveal their profits and they all laughed, as expected.
Profit might be a better measure but I'd be very surprised if our industry or any other were happy to reveal it.
I'm happy for you to prove me wrong. What was your NPAT?

Perhaps you could tell me what the point of the list is beyond being a marketing exercise for CRN with a format appropriated from the likes of Forbes and BRW?

Perhaps the resellers were all laughing at your suggestion of NPAT because none of them had any?

As an aside, how are people nominated for the list? Do they self nominate? Again how is this anything more than a marketing exercise for yourselves and the resellers?

The point of my comment was that Anittel should not be celebrating their success. They lost a great deal of money and have a flawed growth strategy. Nothing to celebrate there.

As to my NPAT... I haven't done my tax returns yet.... but then again I'm not putting myself forward for a dog and pony show.

Well done ISW for making it to number #18!

I'm a little confused though because in the list above it says ISW was founded in 2003, but on the ISW website they claim to have founded the company in in 1996?

Hey Sholto,

How come CRN didn't report on Anittel's $19.9 million loss this year. I thought you would be happy to report on the 2010 CRN Fast50 winner's continued success?
Especially as they were projecting a profit of $7 to $9 million.
Now, I'm not a numbers man.... but could someone let me know where they sit on this years list? After all, they increased revenue by 177%.

In fact, I'm willing to call it.

The 2011 CRN Fast 50 winner will be Anittel with 177% growth.
