Cisco’s gold and silver Australian reseller partners can buy product from Ingram Micro following an extension to the pair’s distribution agreement.
Until now, Ingram Micro was authorised to distribute Cisco to Tier 2 partners only. Following today’s announcement, the distributor gained access to Cisco's Tier 1 partners.
Ingram has joined Westcon and Express Data in Australia with the authorisation.
On the back of the deal, Ingram Micro has established a business group focusing on Cisco, EMC and VMware solutions to be headed by Aidan Fitzgerald.
Fitzgerald was previously regional sales manager for Queensland, Western Australia and Northern Territories. He will report to David Lenz, director of Ingram Micro's Enterprise Technology Group.
Lenz said Ingram Micro is “seeing a lot of activity” in the data centre space.
"Having access to the full range of products means that we can work with resellers on opportunities of every size, scale and complexity from SME right through to Tier 1 enterprise,” he said.
