After short stint at MSI.

Greg Mikaelian has joined Oki as its national sales manager after a short stint as general manager of MSI.

Mikaelian joined MSI last September but vacated the role months later because it "didn’t fit".

“(MSI) was a retailing company. I have spent a lot of time in the B2B space and Oki addresses the B2B space. But there are no hard feelings," he said.

Prior to MSI, Mikaelian was Acer's general manager of channel sales for 13 years. He planned to use his experience to grow Oki 's channel presence.

"My knowledge in the channel will be great for Oki. I'll be bringing my channel contacts and relationships, targeting more of the IT channel.

Mikaelian said he has "got to learn" as he transitioned from the mobile computing space to printers "but I’m a quick learner", he said.

Channel development

Oki recently introduced two new channel programs and planned to expand its reach to a wider spectrum of the dealer channel.

“Over the next 12 months we plan to go on a strong recruitment drive and build a premier channel to support this expansion.

“The emphasis is not to go too wide, but rather go deep with focus on key relationships and partners addressing the target markets.

"From a long term [perspective], the investment in Australia is coming in," he said.

Former head of sales, Graham Harman, will continue his involvement with OKI as a managed print services consultant.
