Opt-in option for existing partners.

Telecommunications wholesaler Telcoinabox has implemented customer relationship management software from SugarCRM for its service providers.

Hosted locally by Telcoinabox, franchisees can generate email campaigns, leads, manage customer acquisition and retention and run customer reports as an addition to Utilibill, the telco's billing system.

Telcoinabox chief executive Paul Line said Utilibill was a "pure billing platform", not designed as a CRM tool.

"SugarCRM Professional came up as the only one on the market that was flexible enough to allow us to write our own code and create our own workflow modules,” he said.

The system was included for new partners while existing service providers could opt-in, but they were not obliged to switch to SugarCRM, Line said.

SugarCRM would be rolled out to all service providers globally, including New Zealand and the UK, the company said.
