NBN Co's former head of construction Patrick Flannigan has taken up a full-time advisory role at IT systems integrator UXC.
Flannigan – who resigned from NBN Co amid a storm over the suspension of its construction contract tender process – will aid UXC in its ongoing plan to reposition its Field Solutions Group.
Since last year, UXC had been involved in a process to "decouple" its IT and Field Solutions businesses and sell off other underperforming business units.
The company wanted to simplify its core business and the process was "on schedule", managing director Cris Nicolli said today.
"[Flannigan's] experience, capability and market contacts are all important elements that will be of great value to UXC in realising [our] strategic ambition," Nicolli said.
