Akamai was on the hunt for partners to extend the reach of its cloud-optimisation platform.
The content distribution and information security company was recruiting integrators, infrastructure and application service providers and e-commerce providers looking to migrate their clients to the cloud for its for its NetAlliance partner program.
Earlier this month, Akamai revealed to CRN that it was in discussions with partners in Australia and expected to have four signed on by the end of the year; a senior US executive was in Sydney this week to meet organisations.
Supporting its partner program were alliances with global technology companies such as HP, Rackspace Hosting, Verizon and Telefonica, regional vendors and integrators.
Brad Rinklin, Akamai head of global marketing and alliances said the modern enterprise challenged IT managers to deal with clouds, security, mobility, site and application performance.
“Our focus on creating a diverse channel has allowed us to bring customers best-of-breed solutions for leveraging cloud business models without compromising security, reliability or performance,” Rinklin said.
Akamai’s global head of channels Martin Haring said it invested this year to help partners improve their businesses.
“Our partners leverage Akamai’s innovative services to overcome inefficiencies inherent across the Internet,” Haring said.
Akamia was helping companies to turn the internet into a viable and trusted platform for cloud services and enterprise applications, he said.
NetAlliance would also help reduce the barriers to entry for Akamai partners while providing better access to market-development funds, training and certification, the company said.
