Apple iPhone 5 to launch on September 7

So says the rumour mill.

Apple will hold a media event on September 7, according to MacRumors. And that tallies with our expectations of an early September launch for the iPhone 5.

Japanese blog Kodawarisan reckons its source is reliable, though the site's last notable success was anticipating the Mac Mini launch date back in 2009.

Anyway, it’s about where we’d expect the next iPhone launch, so we’ll believe it even if it’s only a guess as good as our own. Well, until the next date leaks out. Let the countdown and rumour madness begin.
