The 10in Acer Iconia Tab A700 is getting a lot of tablet buyers hot under the collar. And rightly so – it has an impressively powerful CV, packing in Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, a quad-core 1.3GHz Tegra 3 processor, 1GB of RAM, a 1920 x 1200 pixel display, micro HDMI port and a dual camera set-up
While the A700's specs have been bandied about for a while, we didn't know anything about the price. That all changes today, with German site Tablet Test listing the HD tab for €549 ($A676) for the entry-level 16GB model and €749 for the 64GB model.
Acer has so fair failed to set the tablet world alight with offerings such as the Iconia A500, but with the A700, the Taiwanese company appears to be keeping pace with the competition.
The A700 looks to be a serious contender in the ongoing battle of the high-end tablets – we'll find out soon enough just how popular it'll prove to be, when it's released in the second quarter of this year.
