Nokia has today outed a new beta application called Nokia Play To that gives its Windows Phone 7 Lumia range and a selection of Symbian handsets DLNA capabilities.
This means that owners of WP7-flavoured Nokia handsets will be able to send photos, video and other multimedia content from their smartphones to their DLNA-equipped TVs, laptops and other devices.
Considering this feature has been available on LG's WP7 handsets since 2010, Nokia is more than a bit late to the media sharing party. But being able to share your phone's multimedia wirelessly with a TV, Blu-ray player, PS3 or laptop should be a welcome feature for Nokia users.
The app's DLNA superpowers are not reversible, though. So while you'll be able to share your multimedia goodness from your phone to another connected device, it won't work the other way around.
