Asus’ Transformer Pad tablet-notebook hybrid will retail in Australia this week following its launch at Mobile World Congress in February.
The standalone 10.1-inch tablet will retail from $499, and from $599 with the docking station, in blue, white and red, from Wednesday.
The TF300T Transformer Prime weighs in at 635g with a 9.9mm width, and features a USB 2.0 port, HDMI port and microSD card reader.
The device is powered by Nvidia’s Tegra 3 quad-core processor and 12-core GeForce GPU.
It runs Android's Ice Cream Sandwich OS with 32GB internal memory and 8GB free storage on Asus’ WebStorage service.
It boasts full HD 1080p video playback on the rear 8MP camera, and also includes a front-facing 1.2MP camera.
Asus has included its own SonicMaster audio technology, and is claiming up to 15 hours battery life when docked; ten when not.
The device will be sold through Dick Smith, Harvey Norman and JB HiFi.
