Apple's iPhone 5 smartphone will launch with a larger screen than its predecessors, according to three Apple workers.
Bloomberg reports Apple will follow the lead of rival smartphone manufacturers and up the screen size of its next iPhone, in accordance with the instruction of the company's former CEO Steve Jobs.
The anonymous workers said Jobs was heavily involved in the design of the latest iPhone.
The iPhone 4 and iPhone 4S currently boast a 3.5in screen.
Apple's largest competitor and current market leader Samsung this month unveiled its highly-anticipated Galaxy S III smartphone, a handset analysts predict will be the iPhone 5's main rival.
The Galaxy S III runs on Google's Android operating system and carries a 4.8in display.
The iPhone 5 is expected to go on sale in late September following its launch in June at Apple's World Wide Developer Conference.
